Clínica en la Comunidad
DFX shares expertise outside the clinic through our Clinic in the Community programs to build the capacity of families, educators, and clinicians who support youth with developmental differences and mental health challenges. This work enables us to foster inclusive environments through wraparound care, offer resources and training to families in their homes, assist caregivers in advocating for their children's unique needs, and partner with schools to enhance teachers' understanding of neurodiverse children's needs. DFX provides on-site consultation and mentoring for early childhood educators, improving care quality for children with developmental disabilities. The DFX Resource Library offers digital and physical resources to support full participation for all learners.
Clinic in the Community programs allow DFX to facilitate communication among caregivers, educators, and healthcare providers, and create a shared vision of possibility and inclusion for every child.

DFX’s individualized approach supports the child across all areas of their daily lives by helping caregivers understand their child's strengths and needs. Through the Wraparound Initiative, DFX offers targeted assistance to caregivers of children with complex neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions, extending customized support into the child's home and school environment. This initiative fosters communication among parents, educators, and healthcare providers, reducing family tension and promoting a positive, inclusive environment.
Socios comunitarios
Several Denver schools have invited the DFX team to help teachers create inclusive environments for all students by expanding their understanding of the needs of those with unique developmental profiles. DFX builds trust, identifies strengths and areas for improvement, and shares insights on children's developmental, neurological, and sensory experiences to help teachers adapt their teaching strategies. These feedback sessions support teachers in creating smoother classroom transitions and addressing challenges effectively.
Capacity Building for Educators and Others: Developmental Navigation
Schools and other organizations that support youth often lack resources for training staff to support children with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. DFX offers on-site consultation, mentoring, and access to the DFX Resource Library, which provides practical digital resources in English and Spanish, books, and skill-building toys and therapeutic materials. Funded by the Caring for Denver Foundation, this program enhances care quality by equipping caregivers and teachers with the tools they need, benefiting all children, especially those with developmental differences.
Consultation that Fits & Fragile X Consultation
DFX's Consultation services support clinicians, caregivers, and organizations who are seeking expert-driven consultative care but whose community lacks such services.
This support is grounded in many years of experience in consulting with families, schools, and other organizations that have benefited from our expertise in delivering multidisciplinary therapy and capacity building. Consultation does not involve direct intervention with the client but rather equips their support team with tools for long-term success.
DFX Resource Library
The DFX Resource Library includes an E-Library which provides digital resources written in lay terms that offer actionable steps to address classroom and home situations; documents are available in both English and Spanish.
The is a physical library that includes books, skill-building toys, and other materials that can improve children’s ability to participate more fully in classroom and community settings.
